I was at work (pizza hut). It was a normal day, but the building was slightly different. I was the only person in the dining room. No customers, no coworkers, just me. That didn’t last for long. Eventually I noticed someone in the very back of the restaurant. I couldn’t see any detail. He was just distorted and hovering. He waves me over to him. I look down and notice I’m not in my work clothes, I’m not even on clock. I quickly rush to the back to ask Kim or Alison to cover the table for me. They ignore me. I run my hands in front of their faces, but they don’t even flinch. Am I invisible? I look back out into the dining room and the figure is still there, so I decide to just take his order. I walk over but something compels me to look back to the kitchen. I do. In the doorway, Kim, Alison, and Sara are deadeye staring at me. For some reason this doesn’t bother me, and I turn back towards the figure. As I move closer, I feel myself start to become dizzy. My eyelids droop and my feet become very heavy. It was at that moment when I finally made eye-contact with him. On a blurry face rested two bright yellow eyes. This catches me off guard and I trip over my feet, falling to the floor. Instead of landing on hands and knees, I fall through the floor and into complete darkness. I look back up, and as if I fell down a well, the light above me shrinks until it disappears. My stomach clenches in fear as I squeeze my eyes shut. When I finally open the again, I am not longer falling, but I’m still in complete darkness. I try to look at my hands as I wave them in front of my face, squinting. A blue light starts to fade in from behind my hand, outlining it in a light hue. I look past my hand and to the light source. From where I was, it was just a small glow in distance so, I start walking. Now I’m in front of a small white barn house. It looked a lot like my grandma Sandy’s old farm house. Although the house was surrounded in the darkness, a whitish blue light shown from the windows, under the door, and through every nook and cranny. The I walked, the brighter it became. As I moved closer, I began to hear what sounded like someone trying to copy my steps from right behind me. As I took a step, I heard another step behind me as soon as my foot hit the ground. Almost like an instant echo. I ignored it and continued to the house. I reached the steps and walked up to the door. I opened the door and looked inside. The light was damn near blinding and it took my eyes a second to adjust. When I could see, my eyes instantly recognized a number of the people inside. My grandma gg, grandma elder, old grandpa Velmo, and a few other people I didn’t recognized chatted and danced with each other. Finally, I spotted my grandma Marilyn. As soon as I noticed her, she noticed me, eyes widening, she hurried to my side. She looked mad yet worried as she quickly began to push me out of the house saying, “What are you doing here? You’re not supposed to be here!” I stumble back out onto the porch and turn back to her. She mouths the words “go” and closes the door. The second the door closes, the setting changes. I am not in what looks to be a stereotypical office building. The lights are all off, but I am still able to make out what looks like chairs, desks, and computer monitors. It is also very cold, so cold that I can see my breathe dance from my lips. From across the room, one of the computer screens flicks on, static buzzing from the monitor. I make my way over to it and sit in the office chair before it. I plant my feet on the ground and push, spinning myself in the chair 3 times. On the third time I stop myself when I notice someone sitting across from in the in darkness directly behind the computer monitor. “Hello” I say, no answer. “Who are you?” I ask, no answer. “What are you?” I ask again, but this time it replies, “I am everything and nothing”. Its eyes begin to glow a bright yellow slowly shifting into a dark red. “You have been here for too long, better wake up before you forgot how to”. I woke up.
Dreams can be complex and highly personal, and their meanings can vary widely based on individual experiences, emotions, and current life circumstances. Here’s a potential interpretation of your dream:
Isolation and Disconnection: Your initial setting in an empty Pizza Hut suggests feelings of loneliness or being disconnected from your environment or colleagues. This could symbolize a current issue in your life where you feel unnoticed or uninvolved, perhaps even in your workplace or social circles.
The Distorted Figure: The figure in the back of the restaurant, who communicated with you but was initially unclear, may represent an aspect of yourself or a situation in your life that feels unfamiliar or intimidating. This could relate to fears, unexplored opportunities, or unresolved issues lurking in the background of your consciousness.
Invisibility and Neglect: When you realize that your coworkers don’t acknowledge you, it may reflect feelings of invisibility or being unheard in your waking life. The urgency to ask for help but receiving no response can signify a feeling of being unsupported or dismissed.
Dizziness and Overwhelm: As you move closer to the figure and begin to feel dizzy, it could express emotional overwhelm in your life. You may be experiencing stress or anxiety about a situation that you feel compelled to confront, but are uncertain about how to proceed, leading to emotional fatigue.
Falling and Darkness: Falling through the floor into complete darkness can symbolize losing control or facing the unknown. This descent might illustrate a fear of personal failure, anxiety about future uncertainties, or feelings of being lost in your current circumstances.
Journey Towards Light and Recognition: The appearance of the white barn house bathed in blue light suggests a longing for comfort, family, or a safe space. Recognizing your grandmothers may symbolize a connection to family ties, heritage, or deeper emotional support. Their initial warmth turns into urgency warning you to leave, which could reflect anxieties about crossing boundaries or venturing into unknown territories in your life.
The Office Environment: Shifting to the office setting may indicate a transition to a different aspect of your life, perhaps related to work or responsibilities. The coldness and darkness can suggest emotional numbness or a sense of isolation that you might feel in your professional environment.
Conversation with the Entity: The entity claiming to be “everything and nothing” could symbolize the overwhelming nature of choices and possibilities but also indicate a fear of losing one’s identity or being consumed by external expectations. The warning to wake up signifies an urgent need to reconnect with your true self, face your fears, and take control of your reality before it becomes too overwhelming.
Overall, your dream captures themes of isolation, identity, fear of the unknown, and a longing for connection with loved ones. It might be beneficial to reflect on these feelings in your waking life and consider how to address them through open communication, seeking support, or finding ways to reconnect with your inner self.
